What is a split stay? When planning a vacation to Orlando, many families have to choose between heading to Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando Resort. With a split stay, you can have the best of both worlds. You can essentially "split" your time between both theme parks. This past trip, we started off at Universal Orlando Resort. We spent three nights at the Hard Rock Hotel. We chose this hotel because the Unlimited Express Pass is included, and waiting in the summer heat is not fun! After spending time at Universal, we packed up and headed to Walt Disney World. One tip that made this transition easy was to pack our Universal clothes in a separate suitcase. This way we only had a small carry-on to open, and we weren't rummaging through our bags. We grabbed an Uber, and 20 minutes later we were at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.
We had a 9-night vacation stay at Walt Disney World. In order to save some money, we chose to stay at one of their moderate resorts that fit a family of five. We absolutely loved Caribbean Beach. It was quiet, and our room was near the Riviera Skyliner Station. This allowed us a quick and easy way to get to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The bus stop was close to us as well. Overall, this was a great resort, and we would definitely stay here again.
Because we had such a lengthy stay at Walt Disney World, I decided that for our last two nights, we would move, once again, to Disney's Yacht Club. Our final park day was at Epcot, and having the ability to walk to that park was fantastic. Our final day was a rest day, and what better way to spend the day than at the amazing pool, Stormalong Bay? We had a great time swimming, sliding, playing games, and relaxing. And this was a great way to end our time in Orlando.
